James Schweisthal of Mesa seems to think that the police should be allowed to murder anyone that think might be a criminal.
The old shot first, ask questions later mentality that most cops have. If you love living in a police state, or your a police officer, I guess that's a wonderful way to look at things. I wonder if James Schweisthal is a cop or ex-cop??? Of course for the rest of us who think the cops are suppose to "protect and serve", it's insane to allow the police to murder anyone they suspect might be a criminal. But don't tell that to the police unions who support murdering thugs like Mesa Police Officer Brailsford.
Letter: Mesa Police's sacrificial lamb James Schweisthal 3:58 p.m. MST April 1, 2016 The article "Fatal night at 502" (March 30) has me extremely puzzled how County Attorney Bill Montgomery came up with a Class 2 murder charge against Officer Brailsford. I can understand the family filing a wrongful death case. But a Class 2 felony for an officer responding to a call of a person pointing a rifle out a window, the suspect possibly under the influence of alcohol and then reaching for his waistband after receiving multiple commands to keep his hands visible. If anyone is at all confused why these commands are given please view the videoof Officer Tyler Stewart of Flagstaff PD being gunned down in December. Tyler was killed by a man who appeared unarmed and quickly produced a gun from his coat pocket that he used to kill 24-year-old Officer Stewart. Most armed individuals keep weapons on them in the area of their waist. This fact is drilled into officers through training and the knowledge they obtain on how other officers have been killed. Mesa PD fired officer Brailsford for the etchings on his gun. The county attorney and Mesa Police administrators have made a sacrificial lamb out of Officer Brailsford. — James Schweisthal, Mesa More articles on the murder of Daniel Shaver by the Mesa Police
