Topless club's election event targets conservative group

Sounds like they are having fun at this topless joint in Chandler and using the event to mock the upcoming Presidential elections which has only crooks running for office of President in the Democratic and Republican Parties. If you want to vote for an honest ethical Presidential candidate in the 2016 election you will have to vote for Gary Johnson the Libertarian Party guy or Jill Stein the Green Party woman.

I think it would be fun to get the topless clubs and topless dancers to support the Safer Arizona 2018 initiative to legalize marijuana in Arizona. But that's just my opinion. After all it's the religious prudes that are against topless clubs they also tend to be against marijuana.

A Chandler topless club is hosting an election-related event Friday for East Valley candidates.

Cue the double entendres.

Sonny's Gentlemen's Club bills the gathering as "Electile Dysfunction Meet the Candidates and the Pole-iticians."

An organizer said attendees will hear from "lobbyists who have worked against" the conservative advocacy group Center for Arizona Policy, get to meet candidates, register to vote and "talk to dancers."

The in-house talent will be working during the event.

"Frankly, it's a really good way to get some attention," said Serah Blain, senior strategist with public-relations firm Spectrum Experience. "Center for Arizona Policy has a lot of clout in Arizona and it's often hard to get around them. We're looking for creative ways to inform people."

CAP is an influential voice at the state Capitol, where it advocates for traditional marriage, school choice, religious freedoms, restrictions on abortion, and other issues.

Cathi Herrod, president of CAP, said in a statement the event billing made her laugh, adding it appeared to be more for making headlines than discussing policy merits.

"If they wanted to set us apart from themselves and distinguish us as the advocates for Arizona families, then they did a good job," Herrod's statement said.

Blain said her firm is working with Rebecca DeVaney, a strip-club owner, lobbyist, and executive director of the Public Policy Regulatory Alliance.

"Both of our organizations have a vested interest in women's issues, sex education ... and human trafficking," said Blain, adding the clubs are well-positioned to come upon illegal activities such as human trafficking. She said the clubs should be included in policy and legislative discussions at the state Capitol.

A handful of candidates as of Wednesday confirmed they will attend: Cara Trujillo, a Green Party candidate who is running for the House of Representatives; Scott Prior, Democratic Senate candidate in Legislative District 16; and Talia Fuentes, a Democrat who is running a long-shot bid for the 5th Congressional District.
