More of the old "Do as I say, not as I do" from our government masters and police???
Sheriff Joe forces inmates to live in 117F heat, while he demonizes dog owner who does the same. Isn't Sheriff Joe the guy who invented the infamous Tent City jail and makes inmates of the Maricopa County Jail sleep outside in this 117F weather??? You gotta admit that Sheriff Joe Arpaio is a big time hypocrite. Sheriff Joe is also pretty good at slinging the BS. While he is demonizing Ismael Ochoa for leaving his dogs in the sun, Sheriff Joe does the exact same thing to the inmates in Tent City. I suspect Ismael Ochoa treatment of his dogs was out of ignorance. On the other hand I know that Sheriff Joe inhumane treatment of the inmates in his jails is very intentional and planned. Something he intentionally does to keep his reputation as the world meanest Sheriff.
Arpaio: Chandler man's dog dies chained to fence during excessive-heat warning Adrian Hedden, The Republic | azcentral.com 9:48 p.m. MST June 20, 2016 Deputies arrested a Chandler man on suspicion of animal cruelty after finding one dog dead and three others suffering from heat exhaustion on his property Monday, according to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Arpaio said the dogs had been chained to a fence and left without water in 117-degree heat. Ismael Ochoa, 32, was arrested at gunpoint by deputies around 5 p.m. after attempting to flee the scene by car, Arpaio said. The dogs had been chained up outside Ochoa's home in the 1200 block of East Victoria Street for hours, Arpaio said. A neighbor tried to climb a fence to rescue the dogs after witnessing one dog collapse. The Valley experienced record temperatures Sunday and Monday, with highs above 115 degrees both days. An excessive-heat warning is in effect for metro Phoenix through Thursday. “Leaving dogs chained in this heat without water is ridiculous,” Arpaio said. “Don’t leave dogs in 117 degrees to suffer and die. We’ve been cracking down on these kinds of situations. We’re going to lock people up, and they will go to jail.” The investigation is ongoing, Arpaio said. He said the Sheriff’s Office will likely be seeking charges of animal cruelty for all four animals. “I’m pretty sure we’ll charge for the other three, but definitely for the one who died,” Arpaio said. The surviving dogs were taken to an animal hospital for evaluation. Ochoa had multiple active warrants when he was arrested, Arpaio said, including obstruction of justice, assault and driving with a suspended license. |
