It's not rape if you got a gun and a badge. Well at least that's how cops feel about it.
If you ask me "kidnapping, sexual abuse, unlawful sexual conduct of a peace officer, assault and tampering with physical evidence"sounds like some pretty serious charges. I suspect the court feels the same way when a civilian gets charged with these crimes. But not when cops are. But Salt River Police officer Jay Hun Wu was released without having to post bail He was released on his own recognizance after an initial court appearanceWhile it sounds like this cop is a member of the Salt River Indian Reservation Police, most of their police officers are White people who are NOT members of the Salt River Fort McDowell Indian Reservation.
Scottsdale PD: Salt River officer abused woman in squad car Danielle Quijada, The Republic | azcentral.com 2:49 p.m. MST May 27, 2016 Scottsdale Police Department detectives arrested a Salt River Police officer Thursday night after a woman reported that the officer had sexually abused her while she was in his squad car, police said. About 5 p.m. Thursday night, Scottsdale police arrested Jay Hun Wu, 45, on suspicion of kidnapping, sexual abuse, unlawful sexual conduct of a peace officer, assault and tampering with physical evidence. Police said Wu, 45, had the 43-year-old woman in the back of his patrol car on March 29 as part of a criminal investigation. The woman was not handcuffed and told Wu where she lived, asking him to drop her off near her residence on Via Linda, police said. Instead, Wu drove past the woman’s home and stopped next to a residential wall in the neighborhood, police said. The woman told police that Wu blocked the back passenger door, blocking her exit from the car. He then informed the woman that he needed to pat her down, and he began to sexually abuse her, police said. After the attack, the woman told police that Wu gave her a business card and requested that she call him if she needed anything. The woman immediately told her family and the Scottsdale Police Department about the encounter, police said. After a nearly two-month investigation, Wu was arrested Thursday after a traffic stop and was booked into jail. He was released on his own recognizance after an initial court appearance. His next appearance in Maricopa County Superior Court was scheduled June 9. |
