Don't you love it when the city of Phoenix gives your tax dollars to millionaire owners of professions sports teams so they can afford a vacation on the Rivera with their mistresses???
The only problem I have with Larry Naman is the guy can't shoot straight. When he was in prison I offered to give the guy some free target shooting lessons but the warden didn't let my letter go thru to him. Larry Naman is the guy who gave Mary Rose Wilcox the name Mary Rose "Bullet in the Butt" Wilcox, when he tried to assassinate her at a Maricopa County Supervisors meeting.
Montini: 'Dear Suns and Coyotes: Build your own damn arena. Respectfully, Phoenix' EJ Montini, The Republic | azcentral.com 11:13 a.m. MST April 19, 2016 Yeah, it's pretty simple. Regular taxpaying folks are tired of paying to build the palaces of multimillionaire (or even billionaire) professional sports team owners. We've been there. We've done that. It seemed like a good idea at the time when the great Jerry Colangelo was running the Suns and masterfully convincing those of us who lived here that Phoenix may feel like a small town (in a good way), but it's actually a major American city. Those days are gone. Now, we KNOW we're a big city, and with that comes a lot of problems that also involve taxpayer money and the county and the state and the federal government and so on. Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton apparently supports the idea of constructing a new downtown sports and entertainment arena that would be shared by the Phoenix Suns and the Arizona Coyotes. I agree with him. I agree as well with Arizona Diamondbacks owner Ken Kendrick, who dreams of such a complex that also would hold a new baseball stadium. It's a wonderful idea. It would be great for Phoenix. As long as the owners pay for it. The owners of the Coyotes, Andrew Barroway and Anthony LeBlanc, are wealthy and successful. So, too, is Suns owner Robert Sarver. So is Kendrick. Most of us, on the other hand, are not. We don't ask these wealthy team owners to build our house or our places of business. They shouldn't ask us to build theirs. So, politely as possible, I would suggest that all of us collectively send a little note to these guys: "Dear Suns, Coyotes (and Diamondbacks), "Build your own damn sports complex. "Respecfully, "Phoenix." |
