Prop 203 was written by the Marijuana Policy Project, with help from Andrew Myers, who is Kathy Inman's son in law. Prop 203 is pretty much hated by the marijuana community in Arizona.
Prop 203 is probably 99% about making millionaires out of the owners of the medical marijuana dispensaries and 1% about helping sick people that need medical marijuana.
To get medical marijuana prescription you have to pay the rip off fee of $150 a year to get a medical marijuana card. If you dirt poor and get food stamps, you can get a medical marijuana card for the low rip off price of $75.
The medical marijuana dispensaries rip off sick marijuana patients with outrageously priced medical marijuana which costs around $300 an ounce.
Compare that to the black market price of $60 to $80 and ounce.
Prop 203 left all the felony laws against marijuana in place, so the owners of medical marijuana dispensaries can call the cops on anyone who cuts into their lucrative monopoly on growing and selling marijuana and send them to prison.
Under Prop 203 it's a FELONY to smoke medical marijuana in public. Yea, you can go to prison for a YEAR for smoking medical marijuana in public.
Dave Inman, Kathy Inman's husband doesn't seem to be bothered by that. On Facebook he made a comment which said something to the effect it's not the Marijuana Party Act.
Got more then 2.5 ounces of medical marijuana. Again under Prop 203 that's a FELONY.
Prop 203 only allows you to grow medical marijuana if you live more then 25 miles from a medical marijuana dispensary.
Around 3% of Arizona's medical marijuana patients can grow their own medical marijuana.
The other 97% are forced to buy their marijuana from the dispensaries at the rip off price of $300 and ounce.
