First I have to admit at .322 the woman was probably drunk as a skunk!!! That's almost double the legal limit of .15 which was used when DUI was invented in the early 1900's.
And of course 4 times the current low legal limit of .08 as the article said. But was there any need to charge her with 3 counts of DUI??? Equils ... faces charges of DUI, extreme DUI and super extreme DUI, according to the Paradise Valley Police Department.I suspect the extreme DUI and super extreme DUI laws were mostly passed to shake down people for money.

Christie Leigh Equils had a blood-alcohol content of .322 percent, the Paradise Valley Police Department said in a statement. The legal limit is .08 percent. Police were called to the scene by a Phoenix fire official, who was driving in the area and noticed the collision near Tatum Boulevard and Lincoln Drive. Equils, whom police say appeared to be impaired, was almost immediately taken into custody. No one was injured in the pileup, police said. Equils was booked into the Maricopa County Fourth Avenue Jail in Phoenix and faces charges of DUI, extreme DUI and super extreme DUI, according to the Paradise Valley Police Department.
