Sheriff Joe doesn't cost us anything

I suspect Michael Tierney of Glendale, who believes that Sheriff Joe's crimes have not cost the tax payers of Maricopa County one cent is also one of the people who believes Yavapai County Attorney Sheila Polk's nutty anti-marijuana propaganda.

Such as Sheila Polk's My Turn letter or editorial which said 62 children died from using marijuana in Arizona.

Letter: Sheriff Joe doesn't cost us anything

Michael Tierney 4:39 p.m. MST June 1, 2016

It is time for the media to stop using the term "cost to taxpayers" when referring to government expenditures such as Sheriff Joe's legal problems.

No one is getting an additional bill in the mail. Joe's woes are not costing you or me 1 cent. We pay taxes which become a government's income to do with as they please. Just like our employers pay us an income to do with as we please, our employer is not footing the bill for our new car payment, right?

— Michael Tierney, Glendale
