Actually, Prop. 205 is about freedom

I agree with Bill Betz 100%.

It should be legal to take any drug you want.

But you should also be completely responsible for the consequences of their decisions.

On the other hand I am against Prop 205.

Prop 205 doesn't really legalize marijuana.

Prop 205 mostly gives a monopoly to the 85 or so medical marijuana dispensaries that funded it and allows them and only them to sell recreational marijuana.

Prop 205 continues to make possession of marijuana a felony in many cases, and will allow the cops to put anyone in prison who cuts into the monopoly that the medical marijuana dispensaries gave themselves by throwing them into prison for growing or selling marijuana.

Letter: Actually, Prop. 205 is about freedom

Discussions on marijuana being less harmful than alcohol or the amount of tax money generated by legalizing pot use are irrelevant.

Free-thinking adults should be able to do with their own bodies whatever they damn well please, contingent only on the requirement that they alone are completely responsible for the consequences of their decisions.
