Source Last Sunday saw a movie about drug dogs by
"Never Get Busted Again"Several interesting points from the movie. 1) Drug dogs are NOT 100% effective. So if a cop threatens to let his dog search your car or building, don't just give up and assume you will be busted and tell them where your stash is. There is a chance the drug dog may not find anything. 2) You can not mask the smell of drugs with things like chili peppers and a whole slew of other things that people have used. He said that when people see a bowl of beef stew they can see the carrots, peas, beef and potatoes in the stew, but we only have one smell, which is the smell of beef stew. He said that a drug dog can do the same thing with it's sense of smell and can smell each of the different parts of the beef stew, just like a human can visually identify the carrots, peas, beef and potatoes in the stew. So if you throw some marijuana into that beef stew, the dog will be able to smell the marijuana as one component of the beef stew. 3) If you put drugs into ANY container the smell will eventually seep out be detectable by the drug dog. The only question is how long will it take for the smell to leak out. To illustrate the point he would put some sardines in a plastic zip lock bag at the beginning of one of the classes he gives to narcs and pass the bag around and have the cops smell it. Nobody would be able to smell the sardines as the bag was passed around at the beginning of the class. At the end of the class after the sardines were in the bag for a couple hours he would again pass the plastic zip lock bag of sardines around the class and everybody would be able to smell the sardines. He said if you are transporting some stash, put your stash into the contain just before you leave. That way it will take longer for the smell to leak out. And DON'T touch your the outside of the container with your hands which will place the smell of the stash on the outside of the container. Instead place the stash in the container using latex gloves. 4) He did say that animals like cats and road kill will confuse drugs dogs somewhat, but they won't completely stop them. He said that is because the drug dog is more interested in finding the cat or the road kill then finding drugs. Not that the dog can't smell the drugs. 5) He said that if you are going to hide something in your car, hide it in a place that is difficult to get to. If it takes 15 minutes for you to hide it, it will take the cop an hour to find it. And many cops are too lazy to do an hour long search. 6) I disagree with his advice on this 100% and I suspect any defense lawyer will also disagree. He said if your stash is well hidden let the cops search your car. He said the cops will probably do a short search and not find it. His logic is that if you refuse a search he cop will know your are hiding something. And then do anything to search your car. That is probably correct. But I think his logic is complete BS. If the cops search your car and find it, you will have your *ss nailed to the wall because you gave the cops permission to search your car. And the search will be admissible in court. 7) He didn't address this, but he mentioned when he was a cop he got into people cars and sniffed around for the smell. You should always refuse to let the cops into your car unless they have a warrant for that very reason. If they smell weed, they have probable cause to legally search the car. Keep your windows closed and don't talk to the cops. 8) He said as a cop he often asked passengers to get the cars registration and insurance out of the glove box and give it to to him. He did that because a passenger might not know what's in the glove box and accidentally show the cop something illegal, like drugs or guns. If your a passenger in a car, always politely refuse and tell the cop, to have the owner get the registration and insurance for them. Just say you don't have permission go get in the glove box. 9) Never, never, never talk to the cops. A number of times he would say that when the cops got conflicting stories from the passengers and driver that made them suspicious and led to a number of drug bust. The driver and passengers should always politely refuse to answer any police questions. Just say your lawyer had ordered you to take the 6th Amendment and have a lawyer present during questioning. And then if the cops continue to questions you, which they will always do, take the 5th and say your lawyer ordered you to take the 5th unless your lawyer is present. While I hate crooked cops, even if they are *ssholes I never insult them or call them names. To their faces. They are dangerous criminals and should be feared for that reason. 10) He did mention that police officers and drug dog handlers are habitual liars and will routinely lie in an effort to help them arrest you. He said drug dog handlers can order their dogs to say they found drugs in your car, when in fact they found nothing. That gives the cops "probable cause" to manually search the car. He also said that when he was a cop and if he wanted to pull you over he would illegally do it and make up the standard police lie that you were weaving to give him "probably cause" to pull you over.
Some people also said that Barry Cooper also hangs out with Arizona lawyer Marc Victor. That is another reason I don't like Barry Cooper.
Don't make the same mistake I did.
